South Korea: Ferrous scrap imports drop by over 10% m-o-m in Aug'24
- In Aug'24, South Korea's ferrous scrap imports fell to 148,768 t, down 11% m-o-m from 166,372 t in Jul'24. Compared to Aug'23 (277,603 t), imports dropped by 46% y-o-y.
- In 8MCY'24, scrap imports fell significantly, by 50% y-o-y to 1.30 mnt compared to 2.59 mnt in Jan-Aug'23.
- Japan continued to be the top supplier, accounting for nearly 84% of Aug's imports, followed by Russia, the US, and other countries.
