South Africa: Eskom proposes significant hike in electricity charges over next 3 years
On 25 Sep'24, South Africa's Electricity Supply Commission (Eskom) proposed a 36.15% hike in electricity prices for industrial users for the fiscal year from 1 Apr'25 to 31 Mar'26. Subsequent increases are projected at 11.81% for the following year and 9.10% for the year after that. These rates are subject to approval by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa).
