Rashmi group secures first private coal mining rights in West Bengal
Rashmi Group, in Kolkata, has obtained exclusive coal mining rights for the coal blocks Kagra Joydev and Kasta East in Birbhum district, along with Jagannathpur B in Paschim Bardhaman district, designated for captive mining. With a total mineable coal deposit exceeding 200 mnt, extraction is scheduled to start in six months, beginning with Kagra Joydev. The group aims for an annual coal production of 8-9 mnt, primarily for internal use in expanding its steel operations.
