NMDC's 15,000-t pig iron auction sees subdued response, reflecting low demand
NMDC's steel plant in Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh, held a steel-grade pig iron auction for 15,000 t on 30 Dec'24. Bids for 5,500 t were received at a base price of INR 31,000/t, though management approval is still pending. The subdued response indicates tepid demand in the market.In the previous auction, on 19 Dec'24, out of the 24,000 t offered, 4,000 t were booked at an average price of INR 30,500/t.
