Indonesia: Ferrous scrap imports drop 12% y-o-y in 9MCY'24; shipments from Japan plunge

• Indonesia's ferrous scrap imports in 9MCY'24 totalled 719,097 t, down 12% from 816,256 t in 9MCY'23.
• In Sep'24, imports decreased by 8% to 98,292 t from 107,207 t in Aug'24.
• Australia was the largest exporter in Sep'24, shipping 39,952 t (41% of total imports), followed by Hong Kong at 34,052 t and Singapore at 13,118 t.
• In Sep'24, Japan's exports to Indonesia dropped 90% m-o-m to 2,537 t from 26,564 t in Aug'24.
