Indian graphite electrode exporters may benefit with sanctions likely to disrupt Russian supplies

The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has led to the imposition of sanctions on Russia by the USA and EU, which is likely to disrupt graphite electrode (GE) exports from Russia. The USA and EU make up for 56% of total Russian electrode exports. This may throw up an opportunity for Indian suppliers to increase exports, especially to the USA. Indian exports comprise 23% of total US electrode imports.
