India: Tamil Nadu's biggest thermal plant to commence operation in Jan'24
Tamil Nadu's power plant with capacity of 800 MW at Athipattu in north Chennai will begun operation in Jan'24. To enable Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) will source coal for plant through fuel supply agreement and will enter into MoU with Singareni mines. Tangedco has secured approval from the union government to import 6% coal from Indonesia for additional coal.
