India: MOIL penalized over INR 16 crore for exceeding production limit at Tirodi mine

Manganese Ore India Ltd (MOIL) has announced that it has been fined INR 16.77 crore by the Collector of Balaghat for exceeding the production limits at its Tirodi mine for specific years, including 1993-94 to 1995-96 and 2006-07 to 2008-09. The penalty was imposed due to violations of Environmental Clearance (EC) and Consent to Operate (CTO) requirements. MOIL plans to appeal against the penalty and confirmed that it will not impact its current operations or future projects.
