India: Melting scrap prices rise INR 300/t d-o-d in Alang
Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat's Alang market inched up by INR 300/t d-o-d on 1 Oct'24, as per BigMint's assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 35,300/t ($421/t) exy. There was a notable increase in prices and trades in semi-finished and finished steel in yesterday's session. These factors, combined with increased buying interest in scrap, led suppliers to hike their offers today.
