India: Melting scrap prices inch down by INR 200/t d-o-d in Alang
India's ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat's Alang market fell INR 200/t d-o-d on 11 Dec'24. According to BigMint's assessment, HMS (80:20) stood at INR 34,000/t ($401/t) exy. Semi-finished steel prices declined by around INR 300-400/t d-o-d in the region during yesterday's trading session. This, along with average trade activities in scrap, prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today.
