India: HR strip prices drop by up to INR 800/t w-o-w in key markets
HR strip (patra) prices declined by INR 800/t ($10/t) w-o-w in Raipur and by INR 300/t ($4/t) in Mandi Gobindgarh on 06 Sep'24. Current base-grade patra (148-200 mm, 2 mm thick) prices stand at INR 40,500/t ($482/t) exw-Raipur and INR 42,600 ($507/t) exw-Mandi. Prices exclude 18% GST. Prices fell as trading activity slowed down due to a decline in demand for finished steel in both markets.
