China: Graphite electrode prices rise on surging raw material costs
Rising needle coke prices due to the rally in global crude oil prices amid geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine has pushed up Chinese graphite electrode (GE). The price for 600mm UHP grade electrode is currently assessed at RMB 26,000/t ($4,105/t) and 450mm HP grade at RMB 22,000/t ($3,474/t). Needle coke prices in China have gone up by RMB 2,000/t ($316/t) in Feb'22 to RMB 13,000/t ($2,052/t).
