Chile: Codelco's copper output sees slight increase in 2024
Chile's Codelco saw a slight production increase in 2024, adding 3,000-4,000 t to 2023's 1.325 mnt. December production exceeded 160,000 t. The company is optimistic about 2025, aiming to regain its peak output of 1.7 mnt of fine copper by the end of the decade. Codelco, facing a 25-year low output, made a late push in December to meet 2024 targets, overcoming construction issues, accidents, and declining ore grades.
