Bangladesh: Thermal coal imports hit 8-month high in Oct'24

Bangladesh's thermal coal imports rose by 108% to 1.5 mnt in Oct'24 from 0.72 mnt in Sep'24, reaching an 8-month high, shows customs data maintained with BigMint.Indonesia remained the top supplier with 1.15 mnt, followed by South Africa with 0.29 mnt.Bangladesh's Oct'24 thermal coal imports also exceeded the Oct'23 levels of 1.45 mnt, reflecting a slight y-o-y increase of 3%. The stability signals consistent demand growth.
