Australia: BHP reports decline in steelmaking coal production in Q2 FY25

In Q2 FY25 (Oct-Dec'24), BHP's steelmaking coal production decreased by 2% q-o-q to 4.43 million tonnes (mnt). Lower production was due to significant wet weather and the longwall move at Broadmeadow, partially offset by inventory drawdown. Production guidance for FY25 remains at 16.5-19 mnt (33 and 38 mnt on a 100% basis), with a focus on achieving the upper half of this range.
