South32's manganese ore production edges down y-o-y in Q1FY'25
In Q1FY'25, South32's manganese ore production inched down by 5% y-o-y to 0.597 wmnt (wet million tonne) but increased 12% q-o-q due to strong mining performance and continued to sell secondary products to maximise margins. Sales grew 14% y-o-y to 0.590 wmnt. Australia Manganese, impacted by Cyclone Megan, is set to resume mining and production by December 2024.Note: South32's financial year runs from Jul to Jun.
