World Crude Steel Output Up by 5% in CY'18

According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries edged up by 5% to 1789.61 MnT in CY'18 which was 1712.481 MnT for the previous year.

With respect to M-o-M basis World crude steel output slightly up by 2% in Dec'18 at 147.08 MnT against 149.68 MnT in Nov'18.

World's crude steel output of major steel producing countries in CY18 -

China's crude steel output up by 7% in CY'18- Chinese crude steel output increased by 7% to 928.26 MnT in CY'18 against 870.85 MnT in CY'17.Higher profit margins and strong domestic demand in CY18 pushed Chinese steelmakers to increase crude steel output.
However the same inch down by 2% M-o-M to 76.12 in Dec'18 from 77.62 in Nov'18.

India's crude steel output rose by 5% in CY'18- According to world steel association (WSA) Indian crude steel production registered a growth of 5% at 106.46 MnT in CY18 against 101.45 MnT in preceding year. Meanwhile on M-o-M basis production inched up by 1% to 9.01 in Dec'18 against 8.96 MnT in previous month.

Japan's crude steel output remained stable in CY'18 - Japan crude steel output remained stable to 104.32 MnT in CY'18 against 104.66 MnT in the previous year. While the same dipped by 2% to 8.46 MnT in Dec'18 against 8.65 MnT in Nov'18.

United States crude steel output increased by 6% in CY'18- USA crude steel output stood at 86.69 MnT in CY'18 up by 6.22% against 81.61 MnT in CY'17. Whereas the same inched up by 2% to 7.56 MnT in Dec'18 against 7.39 MnT in the previous month.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in CY'18 is as follows Russia: 71.68 MnT, South Korea: 72.46 MnT, Brazil: 34.73 MnT ,Turkey 37.31 MnT and Germany at 42.44 MnT.
