World Crude Steel Output Up 1% in Apr'19

According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA) total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries inched up by 1% to 156.82 MnT in Apr'19 as compared to 155.15 MnT in Mar'19.

Meanwhile on yearly premise world steel output increased by 7% in Apr'19 in comparison to 147.24 MnT in Apr'18.

However in first four months of (Jan-Apr) CY'19 world steel output stands at 600 MnT, registering an increase of 5% against 572.59 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

SteelMint has analyzed world's crude steel production numbers of major steel producing countries -

China's crude steel output rise by 6% M-o-M in Apr'19- China crude steel output increase by 6% to 85.03 MnT in Apr'19 against 80.32 MnT in Mar'19.

However on yearly premise the same surged by 13% in Apr'19 in comparison to 75.45 MnT in Apr'18.

In first four months (Jan-Apr) of CY'19 nation's crude steel output rose by 10% to 314.96 MnT which was 285.95 MnT in Jan-Apr'18.

India's crude steel output fell by 7% M-o-M in Apr'19- As per WSA (World Steel Association) India's crude steel output moved down by 7% to 8.78 MnT in Apr'19 against 9.41 MnT in the preceding month.

However on yearly basis the same inched up by 2% in Apr'19 against 8.65 MnT in Apr'18.

In first four months (Jan-Apr) of CY19 nation's crude steel output marginally fell to 36.11 MnT as against 36.05 MnT in Jan-Apr'18.

Japan's crude steel output down by 5% M-o-M in Mar'19- Japan crude steel output drop by 5% to 8.64 MnT in Apr'19 as compared to 9.08 MnT in the previous month.

However on yearly basis the same slid down by 1% in Apr'19 in comparison to 8.71 MnT in Apr'18.

In first four months (Jan-Apr) of CY'19 nation's crude steel output moved down 4% to 33.61 MnT which was 35.12 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

United States crude steel output down by 3% M-o-M in Apr'19- USA crude steel output stood at 7.42 MnT in Apr'19, decline by 3% against 7.68 MnT in previous month.

On yearly premise the same registered an increase of 7% in Apr'19 as compared to 6.92 MnT in Apr'18.

In first four months (Jan-Apr) of CY'19 nation's crude steel output stood at 29.58 MnT, higher by 7% against 27.73 MnT in Jan-Apr'18.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in Apr'19 is as follows Russia: 5.6 MnT, South Korea: 5.97 MnT, Germany at 3.55 MnT, Turkey 3.04 MnT and Brazil: 2.88 MnT.
