Vietnam: Hoa Phat's Construction Steel Exports Increase Sharply in Feb'20

In Feb'20, Hoa Phat exported 205,490 MT of construction steel to the market, up slightly over the same period. In particular, sales volume in the South market and exports both increased sharply, more than 2 times compared to the same period in CY'19.

Specifically, Hoa Phat's construction steel consumption in the North is 86,516 MT, the Central is 23,938 MT and the South has the strongest growth of 54,810 MT, 2.2 times higher than Feb'19.

For export markets, in Feb'20, Hoa Phat achieved the export output of over 40,000 MT of construction steel products to markets in countries around the world, 2.7 times higher than the same period. In particular, exports to the Canadian market increased sharply, accounting for 54.4% of the amount exported in the month. Next is Thailand and Malaysia markets.

Apart from finished steel, Hoa Phat also exports steel billets to Thailand, Indonesia and some other countries with an output of nearly 110,000 MT.

In the first 2 months, Hoa Phat construction steel has produced over 381,000 MT of finished steel products, including 69,000 MT for export. Besides, Hoa Phat also supplies 170,000 MT of high quality billet to other manufacturers in Southeast Asia and Asia.
