Vietnam: Hoa Phat's Construction Steel Exports Up 17% Y-o-Y in Apr'20

Vietnamese steel major Hoa Phat's construction steel export volumes rose by 17% compared to Apr'19. Their sales volume increased in all three regions over the same period in CY'19, especially in the South by 67.1% to nearly 56,000 MT.

Export of finished steel products increased 16.9% Y-o-Y in Apr'20, made mainly to Japan, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan.

In addition, steel billet export volume also increased by 35.5% M-o-M compared to Mar'20, reaching nearly 183,000 MT. China was the top importer of Hoa Phat's steel billets followed by Philippines and Thailand.

The company has produced about 270,000 MT construction steel in Apr'20, increased by 13.8% over the same period.

Hoa Phat's finished steel output in the first four months of CY'20 reached over 1 MnT, an increase of more than 7% Y-o-Y. Of which, the output of finished steel products for export was 155,000 MT, up 63.5% over the same period.
