Vedanta Reports 20% Rise in Pig Iron Production, Q-o-Q

Vedanta Resources also known as Sesa Goa Limited is one of the largest merchant pig iron supplier in Indian market has released the production report for the Q3 period results ended on 31st Dec 2017.
The report showed production for pig iron during Q3 FY18 (Oct-Dec'17) at 165,000 MT which rose by 20% Q-o-Q as compared with Q2 FY18 (Jul-Sept'17) at 137,000 MT. Similarly, on yearly premises the production increase by 7% in Q3 FY18 against Q3 FY17 at 154,000 MT.
However, in comparison with the 9 month's, the production fell by around 12% to 465,000 MT in FY18 (Apr-Dec) as against 526,000 MT in same time frame of FY17.
The overall pig iron production in FY17 (Apr'16-Mar'17) was recorded at 708,000 MT which was highest ever.
Vedanta Resources, one of the India's largest pig iron producer the company known for prime grade manufacturer for both steel & foundry grade materials and supply it largely to West, South & North regions in domestic market and also exports aggressively.
Vedanta's Pig iron Export Increase by 12%
According to the vessel line-up data compiled by SteelMint, bulk pig iron exports by Vedanta Resources recorded at 132,900 MT in FY18 (Apr-Jan'18) which rose by 12% as against at 117,350 MT in FY17.
In the total exports during FY18, 78% shipment gone to South East Asia and rest being sell to Bangladesh.
