USA Scrap Exports to China Increase in Q4 CY16 & Q1 CY17

USA scrap exports to China have increased over the period of time. China imported around 0.09 MnT of scrap in Q1'16 which increased in Q4'16 by a huge margin of 242% importing around 0.31 MnT. USA scrap exports to china were increased 203%, Y-o-Y as the country imported from USA around 0.29 MnT in Q1'17.

China has emerged as a scrap buying country in the past two quarters Q1'17 and Q4'16.

Sharp rise in ferrous scrap imports from USA to China seems to be an abnormal trade.The scrap imports in China have increased from USA, as the coking coal prices were high during this period so to meet the raw material requirement, scrap usage remained a more preferable feed for steel makers.
