Turkey Flat Steel Imports Hike 30% Y-o-Y in Nov'17

According to the latest customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) has imported 0.74 MnT in Nov'17 as compared with 0.57 MnT in Nov'16.Thus nation's flat steel imports jumped by 30%,on yearly basis in Nov'17 against previous year.
Also,on monthly basis Turkey flat steel imports reported the hike of 3% in Nov'17 as compared to 0.72 MnT in Oct'17.
In the tenure of eleven months (Jan-Nov) of CY'17, country's flat steel imports showed the marginal rise of 2.2% to 7.35 MnT against 7.19 MnT in consecutive time frame last year.
Surge in import volumes in the month of November was mostly due to the bookings made in July when the demand for imports was strong and several deals were heard in Turkey.

Russia accounted for largest share of flat steel exports to Turkey in Jan-Nov'17-Russia was the major flat steel exporter to Turkey and has exported 2.54 MnT of flat steel and contributed 34.54% of share in the tenure of Jan-Nov'17.
Other major flat steel exporting countries to Turkey in Jan-Nov17 includes Ukraine stood at 0.57 MnT (8%),France 0.63 MnT (9%) and South Korea at 0.53 MnT (7%).
However in the month of Nov'17 Turkey has imported 0.14 MnT of flat steel down by 13% M-o-M basis to 0.16 MnT in Oct'17.Other major exporters were France, Germany, Ukraine and South Korea.
