Turkey: Finished Steel Exports Up 5% Q-o-Q in Q3 CY'19

Turkish exports of finished steel products have registered a 5% growth on the quarter during Q3 CY'19. The country had exported 4.38 MnT finished steel in the third quarter as against 4.18 MnT noted in the previous quarter, as per the customs data maintained by SteelMint.

Finish Long Steel: A break-up of exports indicate that sales of finished long products from the country were marked 6% higher on the quarter at 2.64 MnT in Q3 CY'19 as compared to 2.49 MnT in Q2 CY'19.

Export volume had also noted a rise on the monthly basis, as it grew 12.19% M-o-M to 0.92 MnT in Sep'19 as against 0.82 MnT in Aug'19, while clocking an increment of 4.54% Y-o-Y from 0.88 MnT in Sep'18.

Unload Country wise: Israel was the largest importer from Turkey in Q3 CY'19, with the intake of 0.41 MnT finished long steel. Import by the country had surged 32.25% Q-o-Q from 0.31 MnT in Q2 CY'19.

Singapore was the second-largest importer with receipt of 0.38 MnT finished long product, followed by Yemen which taken 0.17 MnT volume in the third quarter period. Apparently, import from Singapore had zoomed 123.52% Q-o-Q from 0.17 MnT in Q2 CY'19, while intake from Yemen was down 11.11% Q-o-Q.

Finish Flat Steel: Turkey's export of flat steel witnessed a modest growth of 2.95% Q-o-Q to 1.74 MnT in Q3 CY'19, as compared with 1.69 MnT in Q2 CY'19.
Exports had surged 7.4% on the month to 0.58 MnT in Sep'19 as against 0.54 MnT in Aug'19 but were marked 13.43% lower on the year from 0.67 MnT in Sep'18.
