Turkey: Finished Steel Export Increases in Jan'20

Turkey's finish long & flat steel exports moved up by 2.2% and 4.8% respectively in Jan'20, as per the custom data maintained by SteelMint.

--The country's finish long steel exports inched up by 2.2% to 879,955 MT as against 860,927 MT in Dec'19. Also, on an yearly basis, the exports surged by 7.6% in Jan'20 as against 818,109 MT in Jan'19.

--Under finish long steel commodities, following HS codes have been considered - Bar & Rod (HS Code 7213 & 7214), MS Wire (HS Code 7217) along with Angle & Shapes (HS Code 7215 & 7216).

--Turkey rebar exports increased by 11% M-o-M to 688,913 MT against 620,629 MT in Dec'19, In line with this, Yemen stood as the top importer of finished long steel from Turkey and marked at 149,746 MT in Jan'20, down by 14% as against 174,298 MT in Dec'19. Imports by Singapore were registered at 59,183 MT in Jan'20 with a steep hike by 2018% as against 2,794 MT in Dec'19.

--Turkey's finish flat steel export is registered at 722,189 MT in Jan'20, up by 4.8% on a monthly basis as compared to 688,978 MT in the previous month and on a yearly comparison, the same surged by 19.3% in Jan'20 as against 605,426 MT in Jan'19.
