Turkey Bulk Scrap Buying Continued

Turkey continues its bulk scrap buying as yet again some deals have been done. Two more cargo are said to be booked.

Two cargos that have been booked are the deals between:

  • Cronimet & Tolments (US based companies) with KAPTAN (a company based in turkey) for a cargo containing 29,000 tonne HMS (80:20) at an average rate of USD 272.50/Mt and 6,000 tonne Bonus at an average rate of USD 282.50.

  • Another deal that has been heard is by FSR and ISDEMIR for a cargo containing 17,000 HMS (80:20) at USD 272/MT and 6,000 tonne bonus at 282/MT.

Turkey's domestic demand for finished continues to be strong from the past few weeks which has increased the demand for scrap. Turkey has been actively participating in buying activity. It is expected that the bulk scrap buying pursuit continues as to fulfil the demand of the domestic market.
