Thailand's Ferrous Scrap to Finish long Steel imports rallied M-o-M in May'19, as per recent released custom data.
Thailand Ferrous Scrap Imports enlarged by 200% in May'19 and registered at 0.09 MnT as against 0.03 MnT in Apr'19.
On contrary, yearly basis imports declined by 52.63% to 0.09 MnT in May'19 against 0.19 MnT in May'18.
Thailand Semi Finish Imports increased by 68.18% in May'19 on monthly and recorded at 0.37 MnT which was about 0.22 MnT in Apr'19.
In line, yearly basis huge increment observes in imports by 131.25% to 0.37 MnT in May'19 against 0.16 MnT in May'18.
Thailand Finish Long Steel Imports rise in May'19 and registered at 0.09 MnT in May'19, increased by 12.5% against 0.08 MnT in Apr'19.
In line, yearly basis Finish Long imports moved up by 28.57% compared to 0.07 MnT in May'18.
Commodity wise- Thailand Rebar imports registered at 0.07 MnT in May'19, increased by 16.66% against 0.06 MnT in Apr'19, where as Wire Rod imports remained unaltered on monthly basis i.e. 0.02 MnT in May'19 & Structure (Angles & Shapes) import is marked at 0.01 MnT in May'19 post recording nil shipments for three consecutive months.
Country wise- The major import volume M-o-M has been registered from Japan which remain stable with 0.03 MnT followed by China - 0.02 MnT (+100%) and Malaysia at 0.02 MnTin May'19.
Thailand Flat Steel Imports rises 17% M-o-M in May'19- Post imposition of USA tariffs on China and South Korea these two countries have diverted their steel exports to Thailand in May'19. As per market reports government's keen on development has invested in infrastructure, real estate, automobile and 'machinery and relative industries'.
These factors have collectively led increased demand for flat steel; resultant to surge in imports to Thailand during May'19.
In line on yearly basis finish flat imports increase by around 22% to 0.89 MnT in May'19 as against 0.73 MnT in May'18.
Graphite Electrode Imports slightly downfall by 7% and registered at 658 MT in May'19 against 709 MT in Apr'19. In line, yearly basis its being drifted down by 53.75% and stood at 1,423 MT in May'18.
