Taiwan's ferro alloys imports rise 33% in CY'21

Taiwan's ferro alloys (ferro chrome, silico manganese, ferro manganese and ferro silicon) imports rose by 33% y-o-y to 505,891 tonnes (t) in CY'21.

In Dec'21, the volumes were recorded at 48,203 t, an increase of 26% m-o-m and 59% y-o-y.

Ferro chrome imports up 47 % y-o-y
Ferro chrome imports into Taiwan recorded a 47% y-o-y rise to 188,160 t in CY'21. India (86,004 t), South Africa (71,985 t) and Russia (17,641 t) remained the largest exporters of the material in CY'21.

Ferro manganese imports rise 28% y-o-y
The country's ferro manganese imports jumped by 28% y-o-y to 101,578 t in CY'21. Malaysia continued to be largest exporter (39,926 t) followed by India (33,694 t).

Silico manganese imports inch up 20% y-o-y
Silico manganese imports into Taiwan increased by 20% y-o-y in CY'21 at 110,358 t. India (65,856 t), Malaysia (25,190 t) and China (11,954 t) were the major exporters last year.

Ferro silicon imports up 28% y-o-y
The country's ferro silicon imports stood at 105,795 t last year, up 28% y-o-y as compared to 82,347 t in CY'20. China (6,025 t) and Norway (2,222 t) were the largest exporters of ferro silicon in CY'21.
