Taiwan Flat Steel Exports Move Up by 10% M-o-M in Jan'18

As per latest custom data,Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils),7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) moved up by 10% M-o-M basis in Jan'18.
Nation has exported 0.80 MnT of flat steel in Jan'18 which was 0.73 MnT in previous month.
On yearly premise nation's flat steel export volumes reported surge by 25% in Jan'18 as compare to 0.64 MnT in similar month of previous year.
Country has exported 8.53 MnT of flat steel in CY17 which was summed up-to 8.60 MnT in CY16.

Taiwan seeks exemption from USA steel tariffs-Nation's economic and trade officials seeks exemption from USA steel tariffs in order to protect the interest of Taiwanese exporters.
The domestic steel industry said that with the U.S. representing Taiwan's largest steel export market, accounting for 13% of the country's steel exports, the imposition of the tariffs on steel imports from Taiwan is expected to have a significant impact on the industry, and it expressed hope that the government will seek the most favorable conditions for the industry to reduce the impact.
USA imported 0.60 MnT of flat steel from Taiwan and occupied the share of 7% in CY17. Thus imposing USA tariffs may show significant impact on Taiwan steel exports in near term.
Country-Wise Taiwan Flat Steel Exports in Jan'18- On monthly basis,Taiwan flat steel exports to Vietnam stood at 0.13 MnT in Jan'18 moved up 8.3 % as compared to 0.12 MnT in Dec'18.
Other importing nations were China which stood at 0.11 MnT stable since past two months.
Japan imported 0.07 MnT flat steel from Taiwan,down by 43% over 0.10 MnT in previous month.
Malaysia imported 0.05 MnT flat steel down by 60% against 0.08 MnT in previous month followed by US at 0.06 MnT in Jan'18 against 0.04 MnT in Dec'17.
