Taiwan Flat Steel Exports Increased Marginally in Nov'17

Taiwan is the world's twelfth-largest steel exporter and has exported 7.80 MnT of flat steel in Jan-Nov'17.Major destinations for flat steel exports are Vietnam, China,Japan and Malaysia.
According to the latest custom data,Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils),7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) increased marginally by 4.4% on monthly basis in Nov'17.
Country has exported 0.71 MnT of flat steel in Nov'17 which was at 0.68 MnT in Oct'17.
However,on yearly basis nation's flat steel exports fell slightly by 1.4% in Nov'17 against 0.72 MnT in Nov'16.
In eleven months Jan-Nov of CY17,country flat steel exports moved down marginally by 0.6% to 7.78 MnT against 7.83 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.
As per Taiwan Steel & Iron Industries Association report, exports will become extremely important for the Taiwan steel industry since domestic demand is getting saturated. Also,volumes of finished steel exports is expected to grow marginally while imports will remain stand still.

Country-Wise Taiwan Flat Steel Exports-During Jan-Nov'17 Vietnam was the largest importer and has procured 1.28 MnT and accounted for 16% of share in Jan-Nov CY17.
Other major buyers of Taiwan flat steel in Jan-Nov were China at 1.08 MnT (14%),Japan at 0.84 MnT (11%) followed by Malaysia 0.73MnT ( 9%) and United States at 0.56 MnT (7%).
However in the month of Nov'17 Vietnam imported 0.11 MnT flat steel from Taiwan down by 15% to 0.11 MnT in Nov'17.Imports by China was at 0.09 MnT, Japan stood at 0.07 MnT followed by Malaysia at 0.07 MnT and US at 0.06 MnT in Nov'17.
