Taiwan Flat Steel Exports Hike 5% in Q1 CY17

Taiwan is world's 12th largest steel exporter. In 2015 Taiwan exported 11.1 MnT of steel against 12 MnT in 2014. Taiwan exports steel to 170 countries and territories.

According to the latest custom data, Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) have registered the hike of 5% in Q1CY17 (Jan-Mar) to 2.15 MnT against 2.05 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

However on monthly basis the nation reported the marginal fall of 1.32% to 0.75 MnT in Mar'17 against Feb'17. In Feb'17, nation's flat steel exports was recorded at 0.76 MnT.

On yearly basis,Taiwan flat steel exports registered a downfall of 1.32% in Mar'17 against Mar'16. The same stood at 0.76 MnT in Mar'16.

Grade-Wise Analysis of Taiwan Flat Steel Exports-If grade-wise analysis is made, then 7208 exports have declined by 0.55 %,M-o-M in Mar'17 against Feb'17 whereas 7209,7225 and 7212 have also moved up in Mar'17 against previous month.Grade 7210 moved downwards in Mar'17 against Feb'17.

Country-wise Taiwan flat steel exports in Mar'17-China remained the largest importer of flat steel from Taiwan in Mar'17 and imported 1,09,107 MT. Other major buyers were Vietnam, Japan followed by Malaysia and United states.
