Taiwan Finished Steel Export Statistics in Jan'19

Taiwan Flat steel export edges down by 4% in Jan'19: As per latest custom data release Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212 (GP/GC) recorded marginal decline by 4% M-o-M basis in Jan'19.

Nation's flat steel exports in Jan'19 stood at 0.78 MnT against 0.81 MnT in Dec'18.

On 2nd Feb'19, European Union have decided to impose 25% of tariffs on steel exports from Taiwan in retaliation against U.S. tariffs.Meanwhile USA have already imposed 25% of tariffs on Taiwan steel exports to protect the interest of domestic steelmakers in USA.

Thus nation's steel exports witness decline on monthly basis in Jan'19.

Meanwhile exports volume on yearly premises registered a decline by 8% in Jan'19 as compared to 0.85 MnT in the same month of previous year.

Country-wise Taiwan flat steel exports in Jan'19: China being the leading flat steel importing nation of Taiwan accounted for 0.10 MnT in Jan'19, down by 17% against 0.12 MnT in Dec'18.

Other flat steel importing nations for Jan'19 includes Japan at 0.09 MnT, USA at 0.09 MnT, Vietnam at 0.08 MnT, Pakistan at 0.06 MnT and Malaysia at 0.06 MnT.

Nations like Philippines, Belgium, Mexico and Thailand also imported flat steel products from Taiwan in smaller quantities.

Taiwan Finished Long Steel Exports up by 14% in Jan'19: Nation's finished long exports volumes stood at 0.08 MnT in Jan'19 registering an increase by 14% against 0.07 MnT in Dec'18.

Whereas on yearly premises nation's exports significantly declined by 33% as compared to 0.12 MnT in Jan'18.

Country wise Taiwan Finished long steel exports for Jan'19: Australia being the major importer of Taiwanese finished long products procured 0.02 MnT in Jan'19.

Meanwhile South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and China imported 0.01 MnT of long products each in Jan'19.
