Taiwan: Ferro alloys imports up 50% m-o-m in January 2024

Manganese alloys imports rise 81% m-o-m in January 2024

• Taiwan's manganese alloys imports increased by 81% m-o-m in January 2024 to 16,321 t which was 9,030 t in December 2023.
  
  
• Silico manganese imports rose m-o-m to 7,748 t in January 2024 as against 3,633 t in December 2023.
  
  
• Meanwhile, ferro manganese imports surged by 59% in January 2024 to 8,573 t as compared to 5,397 t in December 2023.
  
  

Ferro chrome imports rise m-o-m in January 2024

• Ferro chrome imports in Taiwan increased by 2% m-o-m in January 2024 to 7,022 t which was 6,872 t in December 2023.
  
  
• South Africa(1,848 t) and India(3,494 t) remained the key exporters in January 2024.
  
  
• Meanwhile, imports y-o-y stood stable at 2% in January 2024 to 7,022 t as against 6,850 t in January 2023.
  
  

Ferro silicon imports increase 64% m-o-m in January 2024

• Ferro silicon imports increased by 64% m-o-m in January 2024 to 5,578 t in comparison with 3,411 t in December 2023.
  
  
• China(2,647 t) and Malaysia(1,419 t) were the key exporters in January 2024.
  
  
• However, imports y-o-y declined by 21% to 5,578 t in January 2024 as against 7,101 t in January 2023.
