SteelMint's Daily Trade Sheet - 21 Dec'23

Sponge iron prices in India dropped further on 21 December. Prices fell by INR 150-800/t in key locations due to weak sentiments in the spot market. Only 3,850 tonnes of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 21 December compared to 5,000 t on 20 December.

As per SteelMint's assessment on 20 December, high-carbon ferro chrome (HC60%, Si:4%) prices stood at INR 108,300/t exw-Jajpur. Around 700 t of deals were finalized in the price bracket of INR 107,000-110,000/t.

ERW patra pipe (41-60 OD) prices declined by INR 300/t ($4/t) d-o-d on 21 December in Mandi Gobindgarh, where demand remained on the lower side. Moreover, prices in Raipur fell by INR 200/t ($2/t), where deals were heard concluded of around 500 t.
