About 2,000 t of transactions in billets were recorded by SteelMint today against 9,600 t on 16 Feb.
While the index surged trade enquiries slowed down as buyers felt the prices were quite high in the backdrop of finished steel demand, which remained low on floated offers.
Participants are expecting prices should come down slightly as bookings have slowed down on current offers.

- Other Price Indicators - bids/offers/indicative (T2) - Thirteen offers reported in the trading window and considered as T2 inputs. The average price of these thirteen was INR 48,514/t and given a 50% weightage in the final price calculation.
