SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 8 May'23

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index climbed by INR 500/t d-o-d to INR 41,400/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 8 May, 2023.

Sponge iron prices in India rose by INR 100-900/t across key locations. Buying interest among participants remained active throughout the day. A total of 37,450 t of transactions were recorded on 8 May, as against 5,905 t on 6 May.

SteelMint's billet index rose sharply by INR 700/t d-o-d to INR 44,100/tonne (t) exw-Raipur on 8 May, 2023. The index rallied on active trading at higher price levels. Transactions of around 5,450 t were recorded on 8 May as against 2,650 t recorded on 6 May.
