SteelMint's billet index rose by INR 100/tonne (t) d-o-d to INR 42,050/t exw-Raipur on 7 August, 2023. Transactions for 2,900 t were recorded today compared to 2,350 t on 5 August.

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index edged up by INR 100/t d-o-d to INR 41,000/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 7 August, 2023.

Sponge iron prices in India rose further on 7 August by INR 100-700/tonne (t) in key locations, with suppliers quoting higher offers. About 12,700 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 7 August compared to 7,550 t on 5 August.
