SteelMint's domestic scrap (end-cutting) index inched up by INR 100/t d-o-d to INR 43,400/tonne (t) DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 6 April, 2023. The index rose slightly as demand for semi-finished and finished steel remained low. Scrap shortages and liquidity issue persisted in the market.

SteelMint's daily steel billet index was assessed at INR 46,400/tonne (t) (-INR 150) exw Raipur on 6 April, 2023. The index fell slightly due to lower bids following which spot trades of billets also moved down to 1,400 t on 6 April as against 2,570 t on 5 April.

SteelMint's weekly India low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) export index stood at $67/tonne (t) FOB east coast on 6 April, 2023, decreasing by 5/t w-o-w. No deal was heard this week as the market remained dull and the price gap between buyers and sellers widened.
