SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 31 Jan'23

SteelMint's bi-weekly domestic pellets (Fe 63%) index, PELLEX, stood at INR 10,250/tonne (t), stable on 31 January compared to the last assessment on 27 January, 2023. Around 30,000 t of deals were reported.

SteelMint's India HRC (SAE1006) export index rose by $10/t to $690/t FOB east coast from $680/t FOB last week. Mills have mostly held back offers for Vietnam while indications are at around $720-730/t CFR UAE.

SteelMint's billet index declined by INR 150/tonne (t) d-o-d to INR 47,100/t exw-Raipur on 31 January, 2023. Billet prices declined on lower offers floated, although buying remained strong. Marginal improvement in finished steel order bookings was observed at lower prices. Transactions of 3,400 t of billets were recorded on 31 January in Raipur as against 1,700 t on 30 January.
