SteelMint's weekly India low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) export index decreased by $8/t w-o-w to $57/tonne (t) FOB east coast on 25 May, 2023.

Sponge iron prices in the domestic market have increased in certain key locations in the range of INR 50-350/t. Trade volumes recorded 12,690 t on 25 May compared to 18,740 t recorded yesterday.

SteelMint's daily steel billet index was assessed at INR 44,000/tonne (t) exw-Raipur on May 25, 2023, up INR 250/t d-o-d. Around 3,410 t of deals were recorded in Raipur on 25 May compared to 6,980 t on 24 May.
