Sponge iron prices in key domestic markets dropped by INR 100-300/tonne (t) due to soft steel demand. About 7,450 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 22 June in India as against 23,940 t on 21 June.

SteelMint's billet index fell marginally by INR 150/tonne (t) to INR 43,500/t exw-Raipur on June 22, 2023. The index fell slightly today owing to weak demand and low enquiries in semi-finished steel. Transactions of around 800 t were recorded on 22 June in Raipur as against 4,400 t on 21 June.

SteelMint's weekly India low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) export index decreased by $3/t w-o-w to $65/tonne (t) FOB east coast, as assessed on 22 June, 2023.
