SteelMint's weekly Odisha iron ore fines (Fe 62%) index decreased by INR 500/t to INR 4,200/t ex-mines on 22 July, 2023 compared to the last assessment on 15 July.

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index decreased by INR 200/t d-o-d to INR 39,300/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 22 July, 2023. In Mandi, trade remained subdued throughout the week and the index slipped INR 1,000/t w-o-w.

Sponge iron prices in India dropped further today. Prices fell by INR 50-300/t in key locations due to weak sentiments in the spot market.About 7,350 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 22 July across the country as against 12,400 t recorded on 21 July.
