SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 20 Sep'22

SteelMint's bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index, PELLEX, stood at INR 8,100/tonne (t) DAP Raipur on 20 September, 2022. In the last few weeks, some deals were concluded in the Raipur market. However, buyers are still reluctant to buy bulk pellets and expecting a fall in sponge prices. Therefore, they are mostly opting to adopt a wait-and-watch mode.

SteelMint's daily sponge iron, CDRI index was assessed at INR 34,000/tonne (t) (- INR 400) exw-Rourkela on 20 September, 2022. Following a significant drop in steel prices in Punjab, in northern India, suppliers were forced to lower their prices. As a result, the index continued to fall amid weak buying activity.
