SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 2 Jan'23

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index rose INR 500/tonne (t) to INR 45,600/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 2 January, 2022. The index rose as semi-finished and finished steel demand and prices improved in today's trading session.

Steel billet prices have been trending upward, with prices of INR 47,650/tonne (t) (+INR 700) recorded d-o-d exw-Raipur on 2 January, 2023. SteelMint's daily index has improved further on active trades at higher levels. Trade activities in semis also remained positive. Billet transactions of around 4,750 t were recorded on 2 January in Raipur as against 3,200 t as reported on 31 December.
