SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 19 Jun'23

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index fell by INR 300/tonne (t) d-o-d to INR 42,800/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 19 June 2023. Prices continued to decline amid limited buying enquiries.

Sponge iron prices in India decreased by INR 100-400/t in majority of key markets on 19 June, 2023. About 12,000 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 19 June in India as against 4,150 t on 17 June.

SteelMint's daily steel billet index has dropped by INR 250/tonne (t) d-o-d to INR 43,850/t exw-Raipur on 19 June, 2023. Weak demand and sluggish sales in the finished steel market have weighed on the billet index. Transactions of around 2,700 t of billets were recorded on 19 June as against 2,530 t on 17 May.
