SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 17 Jul'23

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index remained stable at INR 40,300/tonne (t) DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 17 July, 2023 against the previous trading session.

Sponge iron prices rose on increased spot trading in India on 17 July, 2023. Prices edged up in the range of INR 50-500/tonne (t) in central and southern India. About 21,750 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 17 July in the country as against 12,700 t on 15 July.

SteelMint's billet index increased marginally by INR 50/tonne (t) on July 17, 2023, to INR 40,850/t exw-Raipur. Around 5,400 t of deals were recorded on 17 July in Raipur, compared to 4,650 t on 15 July.
