SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 16 Oct'23

SteelMint's billet index fell by INR 250/tonne (t) on 16 October, 2023 to INR 43,650/t exw-Raipur. Approximately 1,500 t of billet deals were concluded on 16 October compared to 700 t on 14 October.

Sponge iron prices fell further by INR 200-700/tonne (t) in some key locations across India on 16 October, 2023. About 9,750 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 16 October compared to 8,200 t on 14 October.

The domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index by SteelMint marked an increase of INR 100/t, positioning at INR 39,300/t DAP in Mandi Gobindgarh on 16 October 2023.
