SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 12 May'23

SteelMint's bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index, PELLEX, remained stable at INR 8,750/t DAP Raipur on 12 May, 2023 as compared to the previous assessment on 9 May. Around 20,000 t of deals were recorded at INR 9,150/t DAP Raipur.

SteelMint's domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index rose by INR 300/t d-o-d to INR 42,100/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 12 May, 2023. The market saw some improvement in demand for semi-finished steel.

Sponge iron prices remained volatile despite rising trends seen in morning trade which did not match buyers' expectations. A total of 10,960 t of transactions were recorded on 12 May, as against 10,570 t on 11 May.
