SteelMint's index for Fe 63% concentrate currently stands at INR 3,900/tonne (t) exw, down by INR 100/t exw as against the last assessment on 8 July. The index has fallen to over six months' low, as these levels were last seen in end-December, 2022, as per SteelMint's records.
Sponge iron prices in India increased by INR 50-250/tonne (t) in some key markets amid rising steel prices on 12 July, 2023. About 21,150 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 12 July in the country as against 13,460 t on 11 July.
SteelMint's India pellet (Fe 63%, 3% Al) export index FOB east coast inched down by $1/t w-o-w to $107/t on 12 July, 2023.
