SteelMint Daily Trade Sheet - 12 Apr'23

SteelMint's index for Fe63% concentrate prices currently stands at INR 5,600/tonne (t) exw, stable on 12 April as against the last assessment on 7 April, 2023. Iron ore concentrate prices in Jabalpur, central India, remained supported this week on active trades at current offers.

Sponge iron prices in India rose by INR 50-350/tonne (t) in key markets as demand for the material increased, making the spot market look positive. A total of 20,470 t of transactions were recorded on 12 April as against 13,150 t on 11 April.

SteelMint's billet index rose by INR 250/tonne (t) to INR 46,200/t exw-Raipur on 12 April, 2023. Billet prices increased on optimistic buying activity. Moreover, robust bookings in finished and semi-finished steel supported offers throughout the day. Transactions of around 4,450 t were recorded on 12 April in Raipur as against 3,700 t on 11 April.
